Deleting your Nummo account
You can delete your Nummo account and the data in it at any time. This page explains how to do it from inside Nummo, what to do if you cannot sign in, and exactly what is removed and what we must keep.

1. If you can sign in
This is the quickest route and it is entirely in your hands. Sign in at app.nummo.ca, then go to Settings → Advanced and choose Close / delete company.
You will be asked to type the company name to confirm, because this cannot be undone. The company closes immediately — it disappears from your account and nobody can open it — and everything in it is permanently deleted after 30 days. The grace period exists so that a mistake is recoverable; after it, the data is gone and we cannot bring it back.
Only an owner can close a company. If you are a member of someone else’s books rather than the owner, you can remove your own access, but the company’s records are theirs and stay with them.
2. If you cannot sign in
Lost access to the mailbox, forgotten which address you used, or left the business? Enter the email address on the account below and we will send a sign-in link to it.
Submitting this form does not delete anything.We send the link only to the address already held on the account — never to an address typed into this form — so only someone who can open that mailbox can go any further, and the deletion itself still happens in Nummo, with the confirmation described above. We do it this way because anyone can type anyone’s address into a public form, and because Canadian privacy law requires us to know who is asking before we act on a request like this.
If that mailbox is genuinely beyond reach, email [email protected] and we will verify your identity another way before doing anything.
3. What is deleted
When a company is purged at the end of the grace period, we permanently remove:
- the ledger and every transaction in it — invoices, bills, expenses, payments and journal entries;
- customers, vendors, items, employees and projects;
- uploaded documents and receipt photographs;
- your settings, branding, saved tax rates and chart of accounts;
- the link between your sign-in and that company.
If that was the only company on your sign-in, the sign-in itself no longer gives access to anything. Tell us if you would also like the sign-in record removed and we will do that too.
4. What we have to keep, and why
Some records cannot be deleted on request, and we would rather say so here than surprise you later:
- Books and records required by law. The Canada Revenue Agency requires business records to be retained for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to. Where that applies, we keep the minimum needed to satisfy it and nothing more.
- Records of payments you made to us. Invoices and receipts for your own subscription are our accounting records and are kept for the same six years.
- A record that the deletion happened. Who asked, and when. Keeping this is what lets us prove the deletion was carried out.
We never keep deleted data for marketing, analytics or training anything. Nummo does not sell customer data and does not run advertising or tracking.
5. Before you go — take your data with you
Deletion is permanent, so export anything you want to keep first. From inside Nummo you can export your customers, transactions and reports, and download your financial statements. Once the grace period ends there is nothing left to export.
If you are leaving for another system and want help getting your data out in a shape it will accept, ask us — we will do it whether or not you are staying.
